Alma Stevens, 81 of Centralia passed away Wednesday October 7, 2026, at the Stuart House in Centralia.

Alma was born on January 24, 1945, the daughter of Andy Lee and Ada Florence (Ryan) Hemphill.

On March 27, 1967, Alma married the love of her life James Stevens, and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2021.

Alma was a proud resident of Centralia, Missouri, for sixty years, and spent a significant part of her life working at the A.B Chance Company in Centralia retiring after 44 years of service. Her career was marked by dedication and perseverance, attributes that she carried into every aspect of her life.

Alma loved planting flowers in her yard, she loved animals and eating.

Alma is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Umentum and husband Dan, sister, Corina Strecker and husband David; nieces and nephews, Eddie Hemphill and wife Kimberly and family, David Strecker, Jr, Greg Strecker and wife Kortney, Corina Ward and family, Mike Renier and wife Lisa, Lisa Sternard and husband Shane, Teresa McGlin and husband Jeff; special friend Marilyn Keen.

Along with her husband James, Alma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Opal Reynolds, and Wilma Hemphill.
