John Daniel Ferguson, 93 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

John was born on April 22, 1931, in Portageville, MO, the son of John D. and Viola Mae (Hill) Ferguson.

John served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On January 26, 1973, John was united in marriage to Elizabeth Duke and they were married for 51 years.

Along with his wife Betty, John is survived by his children, Diann Handel of Billings, MT, Dan Ferguson (Stacey) of Columbia, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one son.

John enjoyed his career driving his eighteen wheeler over the country, traveling through 42 states. John also liked cooking, gardening, antique cars and traveling with his wife Betty after retirement. He never met a stranger and was always wearing a hat. Some of his great joys in life were his family friends, good food and good music.
