John Riggs, 58, of Hallsville passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

John was born April 21, 1964, in Omaha, NE, the son of Donald and Betty Lou (Ebert) Riggs.

John is survived by his daughters, Jacklyn Merrell and husband Steven of Jacksonville, FL, and Samantha Grasso and wife Katie of Omaha, NE; stepchildren Zach and Brandon; grandchildren Leona Self, Layla Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, Brayden Merrell, Tracin Merrell, Wiley Merrell; siblings, Don Riggs, Jr., Ron Riggs, Robert Riggs and wife Sig, Faye Friedrich, Deana Johannsen and husband Gerry, Jody Smith and husband Jerry; many nieces and nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Billy Riggs and several nieces and nephews.

John loved his cat, Buddy.  Known as a "Jack of all trades, master of none", he loved fishing and boating.  He was a collector, played the guitar, and enjoyed mushroom hunting, but most of all John loved his children and grandchildren.
