Jon Edward Mechlin, 68 of Centralia died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columba.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Fenton Funeral Chapel, with a visitation from 1:00-3:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral chapel. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Jon was born on September 1, 1949, in Dumas, TX the son of Charles Donald and Mildred (Wilson) Mechlin.

On January 25, 1969 in Centralia, Jon married Rebecca Roberts and she survives.

Along with his wife Rebecca, Jon is survived by his children, Juli Mechlin Hackethal and husband Andy of Centralia, Jon E. Mechlin, Jr. of Springfield, and Janee Mechlin Hinds and husband Chris of Centralia; grandchildren, Shelby Banks, Laci Milner, Brittany Mechlin, Kaili Hinds, Jeff Milner, Kade Hinds, Rafe Mechlin, Austin Mechlin; sisters, Bette (Ernie) Mechlin Johnson of Lee's Summit, and Sue Mechlin (Tom) Sims of Raymore; many nieces and nephews.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents.

Jon enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
