Kathryn Elayne Underwood, 68 of Centralia, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

A life Celebration for Kathryn will be held at a later date.

Kathryn was born on October 10, 1955 in Coffeyville, Kansas the daughter of Albert and Helen Hope (Haskins) Underwood.

Kathryn was a 1973 graduate of Enterprise Academy High School, she then graduated from Southern Missionary College in Tennessee, later earning a Bachelor's Degree.

After graduation, Kathryn moved to Hinsdale, IL, where she worked in various roles at the Hinsdale Hospital. Kathryn retired in 2022 and relocated to Centralia, Missouri to be close to family.

Kathryn was a fun-loving person, who always made people laugh. She enjoyed reading, trying new foods and seeing Iris bloom in the spring. Her greatest love was her cats, Inky and Leo, she cherished her time with them.

Kathryn is survived by her sister, Cheryl Jorgenson and brother-in-law Jerry of Sturgeon, nephew Andrew Jorgenson and wife Heidi of Fernley, NV, niece, Melody Stout and husband Michael of Centralia.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents.
