Nina Kay Drane Clementz passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the Stuart House in Centralia, MO.
Family and friends are invited to Kay's Life Celebration 12 noon Monday, March 18, 2024, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia, MO with burial to follow at the Mount Horeb Cemetery in Sturgeon, MO.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Kay was born on December 8, 1943, in Fayette, Mo, the daughter of Lynn and Nina (Hopper) Drane.
On April 24, 1964, Kay married Larry Clementz, and he survives of the home.
Along with her husband, Kay is survived by her five children, Christina Leigh Schnarre (Darin), Mark Todd Clementz (Brandon) Jeffrey Scott Clementz (Anna), Carrie Lynne Schultz (Eddie), Jacqueline Kay Truesdell ( Brent). Grandchildren, Brooke Schnarre, Zachary Schnarre, Blair Schnarre, Kaleb Schultz, Katelyn Schultz, Luke Truesdell, Jack Truesdell, Beau Clementz, Marley Clementz, Josie Clementz, Olivia Clementz-Gellis, and Noah Clementz-GellisFe.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Fay Daly, sister Jane Boyce and infant daughter Julie Ann Clementz.
She was a 1962 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Kay worked at the University Medical Center upon graduation and then at AB Chance Co. until the birth of their first child. She stayed home many years raising five children. When the youngest child entered first grade, Kay was the Sturgeon Elementary secretary until all of the children had graduated high school.
Kay's greatest accomplishment was her children. Kay was involved in every aspect of their lives. You would find her and Larry (Popsie) at all of their children and grandchildren's events. She was the Sturgeon 4 H club leader for many years, as well as the Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Sturgeon Baptist Church. Later years, Kay volunteered with several friends at the Central Missouri Food Bank. Their children often refer to having two moms growing up as Kay and her twin sister Fay were never very far apart.
Memorial donations are suggestions to the Sturgeon Baptist Church and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
