Luther Carl Henderson, Jr. was born in Centralia, MO, on February 4, 1944 to L.C. and Mary Belle Henderson.

Celebrating his arrival, Dad L.C. erected a huge banner to fly over his service station reading "Free Drinks, It's a BOY, Little Available"!

Carl graduated from Centralia High School and Kirksville State Teachers College.  As he began his first year of teaching in Mexico, MO, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam.

He returned to Centralia and lived there until his passing on October 4.  He chose to battle colon cancer privately and died at Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo. There will be no funeral service at Carl's request.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cleva Crockett, and is survived by sister Ann Cook of Oklahoma City, OK and several nieces and nephews.
