Marcella Lorraine Parnell, 88 of Centralia died Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Centralia.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Centralia. Burial will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.

Marcella was born on October 15, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen James and Ella Matilda (Westermann) Piskulic. She was a graduate of Cleveland High School, St. Louis.

On October 18, 1954 in St. Louis, Marcella married Bobby Parnell, and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2007.

Marcella is survived by her children, Sandra Reed of Columbia, Mike Parnell (Debbie K.) of Columbia, Debbie L. Parnell of Columbia, Stephen Parnell (Deanna) of Columbia, Alan Parnell of Hallsville, David Parnell of Columbia, Stuart Parnell (Heather) of Columbia; grandchildren, Jennifer Benton, Brandi Reuter, Amber Middleton, Pamela Smith, Heather Hardesty, Erin, Derek, Shane, Devin, Cody, Keegan, Zane, and Emma Parnell; 13 great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Bobby, Marcella was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen and Shirley.

Marcella was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, where she was in the choir and the First Baptist Church Joy Group.

Marcella truly loved to spend time with her family, cooking, doing word searches, playing board and card games, attending the Anchor Fest, and she truly enjoyed time at the Senior Center. Marcella's faith was extremely important to her and she loved her church and participation in the Joy Group.

One of Marcella's simple pleasures in life was a cup of delicious HOT coffee.
