Roger K. McCoy, 79 of Columbia died Tuesday February 6, 2018 at the Lenoir Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Fenton Funeral Chapel in Centralia with burial to follow in the Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral chapel.

Roger was born on October 8, 1938 in Centralia, the son of Thomas and Neta (Dickerson) McCoy.

Roger attended Centralia High School and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1960. He played football for Mizzou from 1956 to 1960.

He was a 25 year member of the Cosmo Breakfast club. He was an insurance agent for 50 years, and was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table.

He loved his Lord, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He is a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Roger married Gayle Williams on August 19, 1989 in Columbia and she survives.

Along with his wife Gayle, Roger is survived by sons, Greg McCoy and wife Rosanne, Tim McCoy, Lance McCoy and wife Joni; daughter Jill Burwell and husband Kyle; son Tom McCoy and wife Shelley; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; step-son, Randy Knowles and wife Gretchen; niece, Angie Hughes and husband Kurt.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack McCoy, and a great-grandchild, Lucas McCoy Burwell, and a nephew Scott McCoy.
