Ross Arnold Long, 81 of Centralia passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Stuart House in Centralia.

Ross was born on December 1, 1941, in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada the son of Rufus Clay and Ethel Irene (Davies) Long.

Ross married Mary Ellen Birdsong on December 31, 1961 at the Hallsville Baptist Church in Hallsville, MO. She survives of the home.

Along with his wife, Mary, Ross is survived by his children, Greg Long and wife Laura of Paris, Diana Rinacke and husband Bob of Fayette, and Scott Long and wife Shelly of Shelbina; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; siblings, David Long and wife Vicki and Flo Nelson and husband Larry;

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Blair Long, Dean Long, a sister, Rita Long; a great-grandson, Casey Long.

Ross worked for the University of Missouri in various roles for over 40 years, then after retirement he worked for Rain and Hail Insurance as a Crop Insurance Adjuster for 16 years.

Ross truly loved farming, raising cattle and really enjoyed his pet dog Molly.
