Susan Kay (Swanson) Day, 71, of Centralia passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Family and friends are invited to Susan’s Life Celebration Visitation on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia.

She was born on June 17, 1954, in Mexico, the daughter of Greg and Barbara Swanson, who proceeded her in death.

Susan is survived by her children, Julie Kirchhoff and husband Ryan of Centralia, MarkDay and wife Paige of Centralia, and Kristen Hawkins and husband Daniel of Joplin; grandchildren, Brayden Wiecken, Madisyn Kirchhoff, Makenzi Day, Malachi Day, andtwo grand dogs; brother, Mike Swanson and wife Marie; niece Kaitlyn Czudak and husband Adam; and mother-in-law, Ida “Sissy” Day.

Susan married Ed Day on May 8, 1982, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2023. Susan enjoyed reading, working puzzles, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, camping with her family at Bennett Spring State Park, bird watching, and volunteering at the Senior Center in Mexico. She loved to travel; Colorado was one of her favorite vacation destinations.

She loved her family and cherished all the time she spent with them.
