Wanda was born on August 2, 1932, the daughter of Johnnie Ivan and Geneva Mae (Boulware) Hendren, near Madison, Missouri.
Wanda married Junior Howard Cook in 1948 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2020.
Wanda and Junior lived on a farm north of Centralia until retirement, then they moved to Madison and later back to Centralia.
Wanda is survived by her children, Steven H. Cook of Centralia, Dennis and Dorthy Cook, and Pamela Branson of Mercedes, TX; grandchildren, Angela Foster, Stephanie Collazo, Brian Graf, Justin Graf, Travis Cook, Joshua Graf; 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Junior Cook, her parents Johnnie & Geneva Hendren and her grandson, Michael Cook.
Wanda was a homemaker and was fortunate enough to stay home with her three children, Steven, Dennis and Pam. Wanda and her husband, Junior, would ride motorcycles and go on group rides and trips.
After retirement, Junior and Wanda bought a truck and a travel trailer and took many trips. They liked to spend the winter in Arizona. During the summer their travels took them to Northern California and Oregon. Wanda loved to collect rocks, so much so that their truck bed would be full of them. She often told Junior "Just one more rock".
She loved the outdoors, especially the Redwoods in California. They loved to camp along the ocean.
Wanda enjoyed reading, making picture albums, and working with her flowers in her yard, often receiving Yard of the Month.
The most important thing in her life was her family. Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life, and she really enjoyed spoiling them. Wanda and Junior had many family dinners and liked getting everyone together.
She will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Madison Cemetery Association and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
